You know those big blue eyes that both of my boys were blessed with? And you know how when they stare at you WITH those big blue eyes that you will do just about ANYTHING for them? Well...today they came home with that 'look'
Cavin: Mom, can we open our motorcycle-piggy-banks tonight?
Me: Why? You have your spending money in your wallet.
Caden: Well, we need to see how much money we have when we put both of our money together.
Me: Why? What do you want to do with your money?
Cavin: We want to help the kids that have sick hearts.
And with that...I was hooked!
Oh yeah, I thought to myself...it's that time of the year for the American Heart Association's Jump Rope for Heart program! Without a doubt (or ANY sarcasm) this is my all time favorite fundraiser. This fundraiser isn't about selling wrapping paper or candles, or beef jerky and popcorn. This fundraiser is strictly about raising money to help children. And what is better than that!?
So...both boys are in the program. They will be jump-roping next week throughout their PE classes at school. And Caden and Cavin have been jumproping here at the house - despite how uncoordinated they are with a jumprope. They are fully engaged in this and are so happy and excited to be helping. And I couldn't be more proud of them.
They will be accepting donations to help with their fundraising goals through the end of this week, February 11th! They both set a goal to raise $100. If you can help, I know there will be some children that will be eternally grateful...and not just my two little boys!
