Freestyle Motocross - yet another motorcycle saturday

On Saturday night, March 31st, we took all 3 boys to a Freestyle Motocross show at the Verizon Center in Washington DC. It was a really fun day. We left the house around 1:30pm and after 2 hours of traffic (not the fun part) we got on the metro to head into the city. The boys LOVE riding the metro. We finally got to the Verizon Center and headed inside to the Pit Party to meet all of the riders. We spent about an hour at the pit party...Cameron got a lot of autographs...and Caden and Cavin had a blast climbing up and sliding down the BMX ramps.
Finally it was time for the show to start. There were 9 freestyle motocross competitors. They each competed one at a time doing stunts on their bikes as they jumped from a ramp to a landing ramp 70 feet away. We saw it all: they were standing on the bikes, jumping with no hands, and even backflips. And of course at one point, we even saw someone miss their jump and crash into the parachute mat. It was quite the event and we all had a great time. Now all I have to worry about is what the boys try to do the next time they ride their dirtbike. They have already started doing 'tricks' on their rocking motorcycle in the playroom.
