Sunny California

We got home on the 10th from our summer vacation out to visit family and friends in California. It was a wonderful trip. The kids were all good on the flights, the weather was perfect, and we had a really good time.
We flew out of Virginia on Wednesday the 4th of June. As we drove to the airport at 3am, we heard weather warnings on the radio. Virginia was hit with horrible storms and tornados. Thankfully we got out just in time.
We arrived in CA around lunchtime and headed straight to Jimboys's Tacos. Jimboys is one of Chris' favorite places to eat. And since it is only located in CA and NV, we always make it a point to stop there when we are in the area.
Wednesday night we celebrated Papa's birthday. The kids thought it was great to help him put his candles on his cake, sing to him, etc. It is so nice to be able to celebrate special days like that with family.

Thursday morning we all hopped in the cars and drove up to beautiful LakeTahoe. Of course we stopped at another required fast food locations...In-N-Out Burger. And then around mid-afternoon, we arrived at Lake Tahoe. It was absolutely gorgeous. We stayed in a cabin owned by a family friend. I have gone up to the cabin almost yearly for as long as I can remember. So it was really nice to be able to bring Chris and the boys there to enjoy it. Here are a few of the pictures from the trip. Unfortunately, it was too windy to actually play in the water and at the beach. But the boys enjoyed it nonetheless! And we kept busy the whole time. The lake, mountains, arcades, mini golf...and of course just time at the cabin.

Then after our trip to Tahoe we came home on Saturday and took the boys to the Sacramento Rivercats baseball team. Caden LOVED it. Too bad he has to wait until he is 5 to play! Cavin enjoyed the cotton candy and the music. He doesn't have the attention span to just watch a game. But he had his ball in hand the whole time and seemed to have a good time.

Sunday was a day for Faith, Family and Fun. We had Jacie baptized on Sunday morning at Trinity Lutheran Church, and then celebrated the occasion with a barbecue back at Nana andPapa's house. It was so great to see everyone and have a chance to just relax and be with family and friends.

Then on Monday we tried to relax as much as possible and enjoy our last day of vacation. We took the boys to a little place called Funderland which is a mini-amusement park for toddlers. And then just hung out at the house and went swimming. All in all, our trip was great! We got to do a lot of fun things, and still manage to get some relaxing time in.
Thank you so much to Nana and Papa for everything!
