Halloween 2011 - Carving pumpkins

Even though we just went to the pumpkin patch yesterday, the kids were dying to carve their pumpkins and get them lit up outside!
The boys dug right in with getting their pumpkins gutted.  Jacie was a little hesitant at first, and then decided that if she scraped a bunch with the spoon...she could just dump her pumpkin out and her hands would stay clean. :) Silly girl!  It worked for a bit, but eventually she had to reach in and join in on the fun of being messy and covered in pumpkin guts.

"My hands are messy momma!" - Jacie
Caden and Cavin were still hard at work

All on their own...and despite the wide array of knives they had out and in use, no Emergency Room trips were required!

Caden said having the pumpkins on the porch was too far away for people to be able to enjoy them.  So he moved them to the mulch.  Let's just hope it doesnt catch on fire.
And everyone...please meet Frankenstein M&M.  Compliments of the kids' granddad.  And since I am too lazy this year to get out all of the scary halloween decorations, this is what will greet the Trick or Treaters. (A HUGE change from the grim reaper and pinhead hellraiser guy that are normally out there!)
