DC International motorcyle show - 1/16/2010

Every year (when Chris is here) we take the day trip up to DC to the CycleWorld International motorcycle show. The kids absolutely love it...and I think Chris loves it even more than them!

While we normally take the metro, we decided to drive into the city this time. I do not think we will ever truly appreciate living so close to history! It is such a treat to be able to drive down Pennsylvania Avenue, to look out the window towards the Washington Monument, and so much more. Even Cameron, at 14, was gazing out the window.

Eventually we found a parking place, grabbed a Subway lunch, and headed in to the convention center.

Immediately, the boys began picking out the new dirtbikes they wanted.
Caden wanted a green or blue one. And Cavin wanted a red one like Cannon's. And they both would love an orange one! Funny how color is the most important thing to them. Of course, they are in a 50 now, and we have a 110 in the garage waiting for them. So buying one in between may not happen. They might just have to make the jump up a little early. :)

Jacie just had fun cruising around collecting 'swag' from all of the dealerships. She had posters, keychaind, lanyards, hats, etc.

Later in the day, we hit the Suzuki booth. Within seconds there was a crowd around the boys admiring their RockStar jerseys. Chris and I couldnt help but laugh at the immediate celebrity status! The employees were handing them HUGE posters, hats, necklaces, etc and asked them to come back around 2:30pm for pictures.
So, at 2:30pm we headed back to the Suzuki booth and Caden and Cavin got to jump on any bike/atv they wanted...even the ones with the "Please do not sit on this bike" signs. You should have seen the looks from other bystanders!
The Suzuki employees took a bunch of photos for their website and catered to whatever Caden and Cavin wanted! It was so funny to watch...but very memorable for the boys. Here are the pics i snapped. I still need to go to the website and see how the other ones turned out.
Caden and Cavin on Matt Mladin's winning superbike!

Checking out the dirtbikes...And four wheelers...Just hanging out at the booth...And of course, a picture with their photographer! This guy treated them like royalty! The three boys...Cameron, Cavin and CadenJust hanging out after the show...That's right...Rad like Dad! (Can you guess who bought her this shirt???)

How fun...okay. No, not at all in my opinion :) But the kids obviously had a great time (yes, mine would, too. Luckily they don't know what they are missing!) Looks like some good family time...and Bryan would totally buy a shirt like that for Selah, too. Hahaha.
