Jacie Jean Strawser

We are proud to announce the arrival of our precious little girl!
Jacie Jean Strawser was born Tuesday April 22nd at 5:53am.
She weighed 7lbs, 7oz and was 18 inches long.
And we are finally all home now together!
People have been asking me all about the event. So here it is! Where do I start?
Tuesday morning at 4am I woke up having contractions. Nothing too serious or painful...just contractions every 3-4 minutes. I walked around the house timing everything for about a half an hour. I decided that it wasn't the normal 'braxton hicks' contractions and asked Chris to stay home from work to take me into the doctor. So we all got up and got ready to go. And we finally headed out the door at 5am, bags packed and the boys ready for school.
This is where the timeline really gets cramped. We pulled into the school parking lot at 5:20am and Chris headed inside to drop the kids off. At 5:30am we left the school and headed for the hospital. So, according to Mapquest, we live approximately 7.5 miles from the hospital. With no traffic, it usually takes about 8-10 minutes. Well, THANK GOD there was no traffic on Tuesday morning. We pulled up to the hopsital and Chris went inside to get a wheel chair. The pain was getting almost unbearable so instead of trying to park the truck...we just left it sitting in the 'no parking' zone in front of the hospital and ran down the halls and up the stairs to the Labor and Delivery area. They checked me in at 5:40 and had just enough time to get me into a room and onto a bed, and by 5:53am little Jacie Jean Strawser was born. It was fast but absolutely amazing! No time to worry or get all worked up (of course no time for pain meds either) but within a blink of an eye...my little girl was here.
So...there is is! My fast little recap of our busy Tuesday morning. And things have been great since then. Jacie and I came home from the hospital Wednesday afternoon and are settling into a routine. She is as healthy as Chris and I could ever wish for and she is a wonderful addition to our family.

As for the rest of the family...Cameron will be here tomorrow afternoon to meet his baby sister. But he is excited and anxious and looking forward to watching her grow up.

Caden and Cavin came up to the hospital on Tuesday night to meet Jacie and were absolutely in their glory. They have been waiting for a long time to have their little sister around and were both thrilled to see her and meet her. They took turns holding her and talking and singing to her, and just enjoyed the first day of being the big brothers.

Here are a few of the first pictures of Jacie. There are no 'right-after-birth' pictures though...sorry. If any of you all realized it while reading through the days' events...there wasn't a whole lot of time for 'get the bags and the camera from the back of the truck'. So the camera didn't make it to the hospital room until well after little Jacie was born. But oh well!
Here she is...our precious little girl!

Maybe running down the halls of the hospital helped speed things up. I'll have to remember that one for next time :)
