But when their dad was far away, on the other side of the country, in harms way...to Caden, Cavin and Jacie...5 months was a very long time!
Not to mention...we went through our fair share of drama in those five months (broken bones, stitches, car accidents, etc). But before we knew it, Chris was home and our family was back together again!
Headed into the airport!
We drove up bright and early to meet him at the airport. Now, since Chris is a civilian, there is no fancy welcoming from people in the airport, no one is there with huge signs and banners, cheering as he exits the plane. But we do our best to make the morning special and memorable, and let him know just how much he means to us as a father, a husband, and a hero.
They were trying to make them perfect "Dad, I love you dad" and "Daddy is awesome" painted in all the colors of the rainbow! They were so proud!
And as Jacie waved her little American flag...Chris finally came through the doors! It was a race between the three little ones as to who would reach him first. Every fear of 'forgetting him' was gone as even Jacie jumped immediately into his arms. What a great moment!
More pictures should be coming soon. Chris traveled with a friend who took a few photos as they exited the customs doors. Check back for those soon!!

They did a great job on their signs! Glad Chris is home and everyone is happy!
