St. Augustine / Daytona Beach 2011

The boys went off an an adventure this year and flew on their own to St. Augustine Florida to visit their good friend Michael.  They had a GREAT time.  And Eirinn took very good care of them, spoiling them too of course!!
They truly experienced Florida with trips to the alligator farm, air boat tours, golfing, and more pirate adventures than I ever thought possible!!
Check out the size of this gator skin!!
Airboat tour...they were able to see some real alligators, and plenty of other swampy stuff!
Learning about St. Augustine history...you can do that by climbing all over stuff right?
Golf lessons were probably their favorite part of the whole trip.  Looks like a new sport will be added to our schedule soon!!
Headed out to the pirate ship...see it way out there?
this is gonna be great!
Look!  We have the pirate's treasure!!
My pirate children...Cavin looks kinda scary, Caden is all smiles with his ridiculous mustache!!

Then after their week of fun (and our week of having a somewhat quiet and calm house) Chris, myself, Jacie and Cameron headed down to Florida to pick them up and spend a few days seeing family in Daytona Beach

Along the way we stopped in Fayetteville, NC to have dinner with our good friends Jim and Kaleena and their three adorable children Ben, Sierra and Brayden!  I wish we would have taken some pictures of all of us.  Next time!  But it was fantastic to see them and we will definitely be getting together with them again soon!

We arrived in St. Augustine to get the boys SUPER early and stopped at Denny's for breakfast.  Jacie sat and played with her barbie the whole time.  She was so happy!  You wouldn't have thought she had just traveled 11 hours! (another reason why we travel at night)

When golf lessons were over, we gathered all of the kids and headed to Marine Land to see the dolphins.  The kids were more entertained by these giant teeth than they were just watching the dolphins swim around - but it was fun.

To celebrate having everyone together again, and a late birthday dinner for Chris, we headed to Bubba Gump's Shrimp Company.  Look at the size of Cavin's shoes!! LOL
Caden & Jacie the next morning watching cartoons...waiting to head out to the beach and pool for the day.
The view from our room.  Gorgeous!  Of course the room itself was a disaster...no bathroom door, not enough seats for our whole family to sit down, no towels, and the list goes on! It's a good thing waking up to the sunrise and the ocean waves makes everything better.
Cameron and Aunt Mindy...since when is it okay for the kids to be taller than the grownups!
The kids loved the beach - as usual
One of the great things about Daytona Beach is the boardwalk and all of the street performers.  The weather was perfect and we were able to really be out and have a good trip.  Lots of ice cream, rides, magic shows, pizza, music, fireworks, and so much more
Chris & I...sorry about the blurriness
 me and my little guy
 balloons!
Cameron and I slingshotted 300 feet up into the air!!  So much fun, if only it lasted longer than like 30 seconds.

In addition to all of the fun beach, boardwalk stuff, we had a great time with Eirinn & Michael, and with Jon, Mindy, Hunter and Cody!  We floated down some natural springs, had a fun family dinner, spent a lot of time at the pool, went to WonderWorks, a Pirate dinner show, and really had a memorable trip!
Unfortunately, for the first time in FOREVER...I forgot my camera and didn't capture all of the fun memories through pictures.  but Eirinn as a ton - so Im sure I will update this blog eventually with them.
