We left Daytona on a Wednesday afternoon and drove for what seemed like forever until we got to Virginia Beach (shouldve stuck with the norm and driven at night). We finally got there, grabbed some lunch, and out of nowhere, Morgan and Jenna Armer walked in! All the way from El Paso Texas!! What a coincidence that we all were in the same place at the same time!!
Okay, it wasnt a coincidence at all and was a very well coordinated trip. But still totally AWESOME.
We spent a wonderful 3 days with the Armer family - I miss them so much already!! But we had a great time, and the kids played together like they had been best friends forever. Time to start planning the Armer Strawser family reunion for 2012!!!
Here is a photo-recap of our days together!! :)
So on our drive from Florida to Virginia Beach we decided to stop and crash for a couple of hours in middle of nowhere North Carolina. Why Chris thought taking a picture of me blowdrying my hair was necessary, Im not sure. But here you go!
Jacie & Jenna checking out the ocean waters! If you ask Jacie, she will tell you that she and Jenna went 'swimming with no swimsuits on.' Which is technically true - but they were definitely clothed.
the four kids...what you dont see are the two dads off in the distance rolling their eyes at why we had to stop for a picture.
Friday we headed to Busch Gardens, Williamsburg. Thanks to Anheuser Busch and their Salute to Heros program, Sam was able to get free admission to the park for him and his whole family. Did you know he had three kids??
Armer Family Picture 2011
Definitely the sweetest little girl I know!
They were the best kids all day! Laughing and having fun for 10 hours in the blazing sun and 115 degree heat!! They must have rode 100 rides (just not the scary roller coaster behind them).
this one was a bit more their size
Saturday was beach day...
Here are Chris and Caden checking out the view from the room
say cheese!!
the girls are ready for the beach!
Jenna LOVED being out in the waves and was not going to give up until she was a master at boogie boarding!
My favorite people!
Vans put on an awesome party at a local surf shop...the grownups did some shopping, the kids enjoyed the free energy drinks and skateboarding :)
And after a crazy night out...trying to find a restaurant for our huge group at 9pm...running through the streets, dodging the 'not so nice looking' people, and having a few drinks and a yummy ice cream dessert, we posed for some last minute pics.
Morgan and I and the kids...
me and my bestest friend ever! Gotta love our matching tanktops...brought us back about 13 years to when we were ALWAYS matching. Haha! Some things never change.
Sadly we had to wake up the next day and come back to reality. No more vacations for 2011!! It's good thing we made some amazing memories.
Now...where should we go next??
