This past week, Chris has been in Georgia processing for his deployment. He left Atlanta, GA on Saturday morning en route to Kuwait...but was fortunate enough to have a long layover at the Dulles Airport. Which meant that we got to spend 7 more hours with daddy. Yeah!
I didn't tell the boys where we were going on Saturday, just that there would be a big surprise. They were completely confused when we pulled into the airport parking lot but they were ecstatic when they saw Chris walk through the doors.
We picked up Cameron and had a nice family day. We went to the bowling alley, and to the mall, and then out for a nice dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. Kind of a waste of a good dinner since our stomachs were so in knots we couldn't eat. But it was nice, nonetheless.
And of course, then the time came to take him back to the airport. This time there were many, many tears...but of course, some laughter and smiles too. Kids tend to make the best out of bad situations!
It was goodbye for the next 6 months...and we are anxiously waiting daddy's return!
We love you daddy!

I am so glad that you all got to spend time with Chris. And a 7 hour layover is awesome (normally those are the awful ones in cities where you know no one!) Looks like you all had fun- at least when you could forget why you were out having a family day!Let us knwo when you hear that Chris got there safely! WE're praying!
