Camp Sandy Cove
For the first time ever, Caden headed off to a sleep-away summer camp at Camp Sandy Cove. Without even a twinge of nervousness, he packed his suitcase - complete with a stamped envelope to send a letter home - and headed off to summer camp.
Of course, it helped that his best friend Jacob went to camp with him :)
Camp Sandy Cove is a Christian summer camp for both boys and girls, held in the mountains of West Virginia. The boys were allowed to pick their major activities for the week, and then rotated through them along with bible study, campfires, etc.
Caden and Jacob got together and picked Baseball (of course), Archery, and Canoeing.
Both Caden and Jacob had an amazing week at camp. What's not to love? Swimming, archery, campfires, games, new friends etc...complete with Caden losing a tooth! It was a great time for both of them and they immediately begged to go back in 2013.
Here are a couple of pictures from the drive up to the camp, and getting Caden settled in. Caden went to camp with two cameras to capture pictures of the week...but in my fit of disorganization they are still sitting on the counter waiting to be developed. Yep. Sorry...
I'll add them in here if I ever get them, but don’t hold your breath.
